- MODEL 461, 463 with TRANSFER CASE 750.65








1 Measure bearing height at ball bearing.
2 Measure thickness of retaining ring.
3 Install retaining ring in bearing cap.
4 Measure dimension (C) from upper edge of retaining ring to bearing seat.





5 Adjust bearing outer race to specified axial play.

Determine the thickness of the shims (1) required for adjustment as follows.
Calculation example: Upper edge of retaining ring (C) 19,70 mm to bearing seat

Bearing height (A) -17,00 MM
= 2,70 mm
Thickness of retaining ring (B) 2,60 mm
Axial play = 0,10 mm

Required thickness of shim (1) 0.10 mm





6 Remove retaining ring again.
7 Install determined shims (1) required for adjustment.
8 Check thickness of shims (1).

The shims (1) are available in thicknesses of 0.1 mm and 0.15 mm.
