Address book supplemental information
The user can manage all the contact data in the address book (view, edit, add, delete and create). The address book contains the address entries saved in the "master control unit". In addition, in vehicles with comfort telephony, data can be loaded from the mobile phone's phone book into the address book of the "master control unit".
The data from the mobile phone's phone book are then permanently available, even if the mobile phone is no longer inserted in the cradle.
Address entries can only be removed by deleting individual entries or by deleting the entire address book.
The Bluetooth interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) can be used to transmit data from other external devices (e.g. PDA, laptop, etc.) into the address book. These data are then permanently available as address entries. The address- relevant applications for telephony can be started directly via the address book entries and provided with the data stored.
In vehicles with basic telephony, data cannot be loaded from the mobile phone's phone book. It is only possible to enter or select a phone number in the following ways:
^ Telephone buttons on the "master control unit"
^ Telephone number previously selected from the call lists
^ Telephone number previously edited from the address book of the "master control unit"
Address entries can contain the following:
^ Names (surname and first name)
^ Postal addresses (private or business)
^ Telephone numbers (pager (only with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada (model 204.0)), private, business, landline, mobile or car)
^ Geo position (private or business)
^ Company name
With code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer, with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer, it is possible to provide 50 entries with voice commands (voice tags) for the VCS [SBS]. The address entries stored in the "master control unit" and the data loaded from the mobile phone's phone book are displayed in the address book.
Private mode (comfort telephony only)
When in "private mode" the user can make a telephone call without other vehicle occupants being able to hear the conversation. This is achieved by taking the mobile phone out of the cradle during the phone call and thus disconnecting it from the "master control unit". The phone call is retained on the mobile phone and can be continued on this.
It is also possible to continue an existing phone call in handsfree mode by inserting the mobile phone back into the cradle.
