Component Identification:

1 Unclip and remove cover (10) of black 18-pin iPhone wiring harness plug (5) from iPhone wiring harness (4) and detach iPhone wiring harness (4) from plug insert (9).

Do not damage the individual pins, as they will not be capable of being fitted into the plug insert (9) and the iPhone wiring harness (4) will have to be replaced.
Only if the black 18-pin iPhone wiring harness plug (5) has been assembled.

2 Wrap insulation tape around the ends of the lines (arrow A) of the iPhone wiring harness (4).

3 Release catch hook (15) from cover (13) and remove paneling (13) from center console (11).

The paneling (13) is secured at the top by the clip (12).
Lead out wiring harness (16) of mobile phone cradle (A34/15) when removing paneling (13).

4 Unclip and remove cover (14)

5 Drill hole with � 7 mm in paneling (13) in marked area (arrow B).

6 Slide grommet (17) over iPhone wiring harness (4) and lead iPhone wiring harness (4) through hole.
7 Insert iPhone cradle (1) into mobile phone cradle (A34/15) and attach black iPhone cradle plug (2) to black iPhone wiring harness coupling (3).
8 Place paneling (13) with iPhone cradle (1) into center console (11) and guide iPhone wiring harness (4) and wiring harness of mobile phone cradle (A34/15) through opening (arrow C).
9 Insert paneling (13) in upper area and install.
10 Fix black iPhone wiring harness coupling (3) in place in marked area (arrow D) using a Velcro strip.
11 Remove insulation tape from wire ends (arrow A).
12 Plug iPhone wiring harness (4) into plug insert (9).

13 Slide cover (10) onto plug insert (9) and clip in.

Shown on center console with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning

14 Close stowage compartment of center console (11) and turn over center console (11).
15 Route iPhone wiring harness (4) at center console (11) as shown and fix in place using cable ties (18).

16 Make marking (20) on glove compartment (19) as per dimensions"a" and "b".

Dimensions:
a = 10 mm
b = 10 mm

17 Drill hole with a diameter of 7 mm in accordance with the previously applied mark (20).

18 Open cover of glove compartment (19).
19 Unclip housing (22) of black 18-pin iPhone wiring harness coupling (6) of iPhone wiring harness (7) and remove.
20 Detach iPhone wiring harness (7) from coupling insert (21).

Do not damage the individual pins, as they will not be capable of being fitted into the coupling insert (21) and the iPhone wiring harness (7) will have to be replaced.

21 Wrap insulation tape around the ends of the lines (arrow E) of the iPhone wiring harness (7).

22 Connect iPhone wiring harness (7) to media interface electrical connector (X18/67).
23 Lead iPhone wiring harness (7) through previously drilled hole (arrow F).

24 Starting at the glove compartment (19), wrap approx. 40 cm of iPhone wiring harness (7) with felt tape (25).

25 Remove insulation tape from the ends of lines (arrow E) and plug iPhone wiring harness (7) into coupling insert (21).

26 Slide housing (22) onto coupling insert (21) and clip in.

27 Route iPhone wiring harness (7) behind air duct (24) along vehicle wiring harness in vicinity of center console.
28 Attach iPhone wiring harness (7), using a cable tie and felt tape (25), to the vehicle wiring harness.

29 Insert center console (11) and align in relation to the attachment points.

Pay attention to installation position of plugs and couplings at center console (11) so that electrical connections can be made later.

30 Make electrical connection between black 18-pin iPhone wiring harness coupling (7) and black 18-pin iPhone wiring harness plug of iPhone wiring harness (4) and wrap with felt tape.
