Component Identification:

1 Make a mark on the glove compartment (14) in accordance with dimensions "a" and "b".

Dimensions:
a = 17 mm
B = 17 mm

2 Drill hole (arrow A) with a diameter of 19 mm in accordance with the previously applied mark.

3 Open cover of glove compartment (14).
4 Place iPod wiring harness (11) in glove compartment (14) and route black iPod wiring harness coupling (10) of iPod wiring harness (11) to the outside through previously made hole.
5 Insert grommet (15) into hole.
6 Wrap iPod wiring harness (11) in felt tape, starting at glove compartment (14).
7 Remove optical fiber from black 44-pin coupling of vehicle wiring harness and install at same position in black 44-pin coupling (4) of wiring harness for iPod interface (3).

For vehicles in which an optical fiber is installed.

8 Attach black 44-pin connector (2) of wiring harness for iPod interface (3) to black 44-pin coupling of vehicle wiring harness.

Black 44-pin coupling (4) of iPod interface wiring harness (3) is connected to the removed audio component at a later point.

9 Route black 18-pin coupling (5) of iPod interface wiring harness (3) to the right below the instrument panel.
10 Wrap iPod interface (6) with felt tape (16) as shown.
11 Stick adhesive strips (17) included in package contents onto iPod interface (6).
12 Connect black 18-pin coupling of wiring harness for iPod interface (3) to iPod interface (6).
13 Place glove compartment in front passenger footwell.

14 Connect wiring harness for iPod (11) to iPod interface (6).
15 Remove protective foil from adhesive strip at iPod interface (6) and glue iPod interface (6) to cable duct (18).
16 Secure iPod interface wiring harness (3) to on-board wiring harness using cable ties.
