Component Identification:

1. Remove blue 28-pin coupling (8) from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
2. Remove plug (9) from blue 28-pin coupling (8).
3. Pin brown CAN line from control unit wiring harness into slot 9 of the plug (9).
4. Pin brown/red CAN line from control unit wiring harness into slot 10 of the plug (9).
5. Install plug (9) into blue 28-pin coupling (8) and connect blue 28-pin coupling (8) to slot 5H (arrow A) of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
6. Route control unit wiring harness from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) along vehicle wiring harness (10) to right backup lamp and fix in place with cable ties.

7. Check fuse assignment of blue fuse carrier (3).

8. Plug the blue fuse carrier (3) into the slot with blue markings of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

9. Connect brown ground lines (11) of control unit wiring harness (1) and trailer hitch wiring harness (2) to right taillight trunk ground point (W7/1).
10. Connect black 8-pin coupling (4) and black 4-pin coupling (5) of control unit wiring harness (1) to trailer recognition control unit (N28/1).
11. Connect white 4-pin coupling (6) and black 6-pin coupling (7) of trailer hitch wiring harness (2) to trailer recognition control unit (N28/1).

12. Route control unit wiring harness along broken line on vehicle wiring harness (10), loop any excess lengths and fix in place with cable ties (12).
13. Route trailer hitch wiring harness (2) along broken line on rear center section and fix in place with retaining clip (13).
14. Loop any excess lengths of trailer hitch wiring harness (2) and fix in place with cable ties.
