GF80.61-P-2008CE Locking/Unlocking, Function
GF80.61-P-2008CE Locking/Unlocking, Function
- with CODE (889) Keyless Go
Function requirements, general
^ Valid transmitter key (A8/1) outside of vehicle (maximum distance to one of the controls approx. s = 1 m)
^ Terminal 15C OFF
Circuit status 15 is transmitted by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) via the interior CAN (CAN B).
Locking/unlocking, general
The locking/unlocking function allows the vehicle to be opened and closed.
The following control elements are available:
To lock and unlock:
- Left front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/1)
- Right front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/2)
- Left rear KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/3)
- Right rear KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/4)
To unlock:
- Trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8)
(model 204.0) or liftgate external operation switch (S88/8) (model 204.2/9)
The locking/unlocking functions comprise the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for preadjustment of unlocking mode
^ Function sequence for locking/unlocking one vehicle door
^ Function sequence for acoustic locking feedback (as of 1.6.10)
^ Function sequence for visual locking feedback
^ Function sequence, unlocking trunk lid (model 204.0) or liftgate (model 204.2/9)
The sensor units in the KEYLESS-GO door handles are switched off when c. 15 is switched on. The sensors are activated when the circuit 15 is switched off and a door is opened. The inner capacitive sensor is switched off after t = 72 h to save the onboard electrical system battery (G1).
After switching off, the vehicle can no longer be unlocked by touching the sensor unit (recognized by the inner capacitive sensor). The KEYLESS GO door handle must be pulled.
Function sequence for preadjustment of unlocking mode
If the unlock button and the lock button on the transmitter key are pressed simultaneously for t = 5 s, the unlocking mode is changed. The LED on the transmitter key comes on twice to confirm this change.
The following models of unlocking are possible:
- Global unlocking:
The entire vehicle can be unlocked by gripping and pulling one of the KEYLESS GO door handles.
- Selective unlocking (only possible on driver door):
Only the driver door and the fuel filler flap are unlocked by gripping and pulling the left front KEYLESS GO door handle.
Function sequence for locking/unlocking one vehicle door
Unlocking possibilities:
- Gripping any KEYLESS GO door handle (global or selective opening) or
- Gripping and pulling any KEYLESS GO door handle (global or selective opening) or
Locking possibilities:
- touching outside of KEYLESS GO door handle or
- actuating convenience sensor on KEYLESS GO door handle
Function sequence for global unlocking at left front door:
The inner capacitor recognizes if the left front door KEYLESS-GO door handle is gripped. The KEYLESS-GO control unit reads in the signal of the inner capacitor and transmits a wake-up signal to the transmitter key via the rear front door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/39).
The transmitter key transmits its access authorization code and position to the TV 2 and KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier (A94/2) (model 204.0/9) or KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier(A94/4) (model 204.2), which relays data to the KEYLESS-GO control unit. The KEYLESS-GO control unit relays the authorization code to the electronic ignition lock control unit via the interior CAN.
If the access authorization code is valid, the electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the command "Open central locking" to the:
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) (up to 30.11.09)
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Left front door control unit (N69/1)
- Right front door control unit (N69/2)
- Left rear door control unit (N69/3) (as of 1.12.09)
- Right rear door control unit (N69/4) (as of 1.12.09)
They then unlock the following components:
- Left front door lock (A85)
- Right front door lock (A85/1)
- Left rear door lock (A85/3)
- Right rear door lock (A85/4)
- Trunk lid central locking motor (M14/7) (model 204.0) or Liftgate central locking motor (M14/7) (model 204.2/9)
- Tank cap central locking motor (M14/10)
The external operation switch is enabled to unlock the trunk lid or the liftgate by the rear SAM control unit. If the left front KEYLESS GO door handle is pulled within t = 0.5 s after opening the central locking, this is sensed by the Hall sensor in the left front KEYLESS GO door handle and signaled to the KEYLESS GO control unit, which then actuates on vehicles up to 31.5.10 the left front door opening assist motor (A85m2).
When the left front door opening assist motor is actuated, the rotary tumbler "Opens" and the door pops open.
Function sequence for acoustic locking feedback (as of 1.6.10)
The acoustic locking feedback can be selected and activated in the instrument cluster (A1) over the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110). The control signals from the left multifunction steering wheel button group are read in by the steering wheel electronics (N135) via the steering LIN (LIN E1) by the steering column tube module control unit (N80), which relays the control signals to the instrument cluster via the chassis CAN (CAN E).
The status of the acoustic locking feedback is transmitted by the instrument cluster to front SAM control unit via the interior CAN. If the acoustic locking feedback function is activated and the successful locking and unlocking, an acoustic feedback is output by momentarily actuating the left horn (H2) and right horn (H2/1).
If the transmitter key is valid and the acoustic locking feedback is activated, the electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the command "Lock or unlock" to the front SAM control unit via the interior CAN. Then the front SAM control unit momentarily actuates the horns via the horn relays (N10/1kO).
Number of acoustic signals:
- Locking: three times
- Unlocking: one
On model 204.2 /9, if a door is still open when locking or the liftgate is open, the acoustic locking feedback is suppressed.
On vehicles up to 31.5.10 with code (494) USA version, the acoustic locking feedback via horns replaces the acoustic locking feedback via the alarm siren (H3/1).
Function sequence, unlocking trunk lid (model 204.0) or liftgate (model 204.2/9)
The rear SAM control unit recognizes when the external operation switch is actuated and signals it to the KEYLESS GO control unit via interior CAN.
The KEYLESS-GO control unit then actuates the luggage compartment KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/35), which transmits a wakeup signal to the transmitter key
The transmitter key sends its access authorization code and position to the KEYLESS GO control unit via the TV 2 and KEYLESS GO antenna amplifier.
The KEYLESS-GO control unit relays the authorization code to the electronic ignition lock control unit via the interior CAN.
If the access authorization code is valid, the electronic ignition switch control unit transmits the command "Unlock trunk lid or liftgate" to the rear SAM control unit. It enables the signal for the external operation switch and disables the trunk lid or the liftgate.
