GF88.79-P-2008CE Mirror Lens Adjustment Left/Right Outside Mirror, Function
GF88.79-P-2008CE Mirror Lens Adjustment Left/right Outside Mirror, Function
- as of model year 09
Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
^ Storage of mirror glass position not active
^ Valid mirror selection available
The electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) transmits the circuit status c. 15 to the interior CAN (CAN B).
Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror, function, general
The glass in both outside mirrors can be adjusted electrically and manually in sequence with the mirror glass adjustment rocker in the driver door.
The mirror glass adjustment of the left/right outside mirror comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Adjust mirror glass function sequence
^ Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass positions (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))
Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The left outside mirror (M21/1) and right outside mirror (M21/2) can be adjusted manually via the driver side power window switch group and the driver side outside mirror adjustment (S20).
The corresponding outside mirror are selected via the left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10) or right outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s11).
The selected outside mirror is displayed by an LED in the corresponding outside mirror adjustment switch.
The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position by the outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s12). The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.
The adjustment request is read in via the left door LIN (LIN B5) by the left front door control unit (N69/1), which relays the information for the right outside mirror to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit actuates the:
- Vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m1) and
- Horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/1m2).
The right front door control unit actuates the:
- Vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m1) and
- Horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m2).
Store/retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
The store/retrieve mirror glass position subfunction comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Store mirror glass position function sequence
^ Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
Store mirror glass position function sequence
The manually adjusted positions of the mirror glass can be stored via the
- Left front memory switch 1 (S22s7) or
- Left front memory switch 2 (S22s8) or
- Left front memory switch 3 (S22s9) the left front seat adjustment switch group (S22) (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror)).
The storage request is read in by the left front door control unit via the left front door LIN and passed on to the driver seat control unit via the interior CAN.N32/1
Procedure for storing:
- Adjust mirror glasses as desired
- Actuate left front memory switch function (S22s6) for t ≤ 40 ms
- Actuate one of the memory location switches within t < 3 s
This stores the current position of the mirror glasses in the corresponding front door control unit on the basis of the values of:
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r3)
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3)
A blockage detection is carried out with the help of the position detection. The adjustment is terminated immediately if a blockage is detected. The lock-up recognition is only performed on a programmed adjustment.
Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
A stored mirror position can be called up via the memory location switches.
For this purpose, actuate one of the memory location switches until the stored position is reached.
Actuation of the memory switch is read in by the left front door control unit and relayed to the driver seat control unit via the interior CAN.
This requests actuation of the front door control unit to the stored position via the interior CAN
