Function sequence for park position of right outside mirror, general
The right outside mirror park position comprises the following partial functions. These are:
^ Move to park position
^ Store park position
Function requirements for moving to park position
^ Circuit 15 On
^ No overvoltage/undervoltage
^ Reverse gear engaged (recognition time t greater than or equal to 1 s)
^ Right rearview mirror switch actuated
^ Position measurement supplies valid readings
^ No manual mirror lens adjustment actuated or memory request active.
^ Function activated in instrument cluster
Actuate park position function sequence
When the right outside mirror is in the park position, the driver can observe the distance between the rear wheel and curb when backing up. When the right front door control unit receives the signal "Reverse gear engaged" via the interior CAN from the EIS control unit, the right outside mirror is moved to the stored park position.
If a park position for the right outside mirror is not stored for the transmitter key (A8/1) adjustment is not performed.
The right outside mirror is automatically returned to the original position, when:
- the transmission is shifted to another gear range after approx. t = 1 s has elapsed
- Vehicle speed increases over v = 10 km/h
- the left mirror adjustment switch (driver mirror) is actuated.
- right outside mirror park position function is deactivated in instrument cluster
If the right outside mirror is located in the park position with circuit 15 Off, it is returned after 1 s when circuit 15 is switched back on and the transmission is no longer shifted to reverse. If reverse gear is recognized with circuit 15 On, the mirror moves to the park position after greater than or equal to 1 s.
It is also then returned to the original position of the right outside mirror, if the outside mirror is adjusted manually in the park position via the adjustment switch.
Function requirements for storing park position
^ Circuit 15 or circuit 15R ON
^ Valid memory block number recognized
^ Vehicle speed v = 0 km/h
^ Reverse gear engaged
Store park position function sequence
First adjust desired position of the right outside mirror via the outside mirror adjustment rocker switch. If then the memory switch is pressed for t greater than or equal to 100 ms and the function "Left/right outside mirror glass adjustment" function is actuated within t < 3 s in any direction, the right front door control unit stores this position as park position.
If the desired park position is not yet correct, it can be corrected afterwards by adjusting the outside mirror manually even when the park position function is activated. It is stored after manual adjustment is completed.
