AP82.10-P-8260-07GX Check/Correct Headlamp Adjustment Without Headlamp Aimer
AP82.10-P-8260-07GX Check/correct Headlamp Adjustment Without Headlamp Aimer
DANGER: Risk of death caused by high voltage at xenon headlamps. Risk of explosion/risk of fire caused by highly flammable materials in the vicinity of damaged xenon bulbs. Risk of injury caused by UV light, hot components at xenon headlamps and glass splinters produced by bursting xenon bulbs. Risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of mercury vapors and by toxic salts and mercury compounds being ingested or coming into contact with skin
Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off entire lighting system. Wear insulated safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. AS82.10-Z-0001-01A
Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area.

A Clearance
HN Horizontal central axis of front fog lamps
HS Horizontal central axis of main headlamps
N Inclination dimension
Without the headlamp aimer only the inclination of the headlamps can be checked and adjusted, not their vertical alignment. This method should therefore only be applied in exceptional cases. The headlamp adjustment must then be checked and corrected as soon as possible by means of the headlamp aimer.
1 Drive vehicle up close to a light colored wall and mark horizontal central axes (HS, HN) of main headlamps and front fog lamps on wall as horizontal line.
2 Park vehicle perpendicularly to wall at distance (A).
3 If available, set manual headlamp range adjustment to "0".
4 Switch on low beams and check inclination dimension (N) of both main headlamps, if necessary correct by turning the adjustment screw for height adjustment (1).
The distance between the horizontal light-dark boundary and the horizontal central axis (HS) below must correspond to the inclination dimension (N).
5 Switch on standing lamps and front fog lights and correct inclination dimension (N) of both front fog lamps, correct if necessary.
The distance between the light-dark boundary and the horizontal central axis (HN) below must correspond to the inclination dimension (N).
6 Switch off standing lights and front fog lights.
