The user has several ways of accepting the call:
^ Pressing the "Accept call" button on the respective portable CTEL (A34/6).
^ By pressing the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the multifunction steering wheel
^ By pressing the "Accept phone call" button on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)

Call signaling:
Incoming calls are signaled by a ringing tone, via the display of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit and also in the display of the instrument cluster (A1).
The volume of the currently active audio source is reduced by 15 dB and muted (MUTE) when a call is accepted.

Audio management is performed by the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.

Hands-free mode:
In hands-free mode, the voice command is entered via the handsfree system microphone group (A67b1) which is integrated in the housing of the inside rearview mirror and directly connected to the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1).
Voice output takes place via the left front door speaker (H4/5), right front door speaker (H4/6) and the center cockpit speaker (centerfill) (H4/27).

Further telephone functions:
^ The user has the option of switching back and forth between calls (toggling) or communicating with several parties simultaneously via the menu of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
^ Accepting a call waiting call and simultaneously ending all active calls.
