APS, general
The radio and navigation unit (A2/56) is the central operating unit for the entertainment and communications systems integrated into the vehicle. The following partial functions are described in separate documents:

The displays and menu representations for the display are generated in the radio and navigation unit. The following applications are shown at the same time in the instrument cluster (A1) as on the display of the radio and navigation unit:
- "Audio"
- "Telephone"
- "Navigation"

The radio and navigation unit supports the following control units, which are available as special equipment
- Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit (N87/3) (with code (537) Digital radio)
- Amplifier for sound system (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system)
- Media interface control unit (N125/1) (with code (518) Media interface)

The radio and navigation unit acts as a gateway. It routes signals from the interior CAN to the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) components and thus forms the communications interface.
