Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror function requirements, general
^ C. 15R On
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage

Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror, function, general
The mirror glass in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) can be manually adjusted in the horizontal and vertical direction via the driver power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (S20/1).

The mirror glass adjustment of the left/right outside mirror comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Adjust mirror glass function sequence
^ Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass positions
(with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))

Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The two outside mirror glasses can be electrically adjusted by the driver via the outside mirror adjustment toggle switch (S20/1s12) in the driver window switch group after the respective outside mirror has been selected via the left outside mirror adjustment selection switch (S20/1s10) or the right outside mirror adjustment selection switch (S20/1s11).

The adjustment request is read in by the driver power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group and is transmitted via the interior CAN to the left front door control unit (N69/1) and from there to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.

The left front door control unit actuates the:
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/1m1) and the
- Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/1m2).
The right front door control unit actuates the:
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/2m1) and the
- Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/2m2).

Additional function requirements for store/retrieve mirror glass position
^ Position measurement supplies valid readings

The driver door can also be opened alternatively to c. 15 ON. The status of the left front door rotary tumbler microswitch (M14/6s1) is sensed. The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) reads in the signal and transmits it via the interior CAN.

Store/retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
The store/retrieve mirror glass position subfunction comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Store mirror glass position function sequence
^ Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence

Store mirror glass position function sequence
The current mirror glass position can be stored with the memory locations switches 1,2,3 (S91s14) in the driver seat adjustment switch group with memory (S91).

Via the memory function, the mirror glass position is also used to determine and retrieve the positions of the steering column and the driver seat.

The memory request is read in by the left front door control unit and relayed to the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory via the interior CAN.N32/

There are two procedures to store the positions:
^ First hold down memory switch (S91s9) and then actuate one of the memory location switches 1, 2, 3 for t ≥ 40 ms.
^ Actuate memory switch t ≥ 40 ms and release, then actuate one of the memory location switches 1, 2, 3 within t ≤ 3 s for t ≥ 40 ms.

The left front door control unit stores the position of the left mirror glass according to the signals from the following components:
^ Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2)
^ Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r3)
The right front door control unit stores the position of the right mirror glass according to the signals from the following components:
^ Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)
^ Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3)

Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
A stored mirror position can be called up via the memory location switches 1, 2, 3.
For this purpose, the memory location switches 1, 2, 3 must be pressed until the stored position has been reached.
Actuation of the memory location switches 1, 2, 3 is read in by the left door control unit and relayed to the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory via the interior CAN.

It request the left front door control unit and right front door control unit via the interior CAN to adjust the mirror adjustment motors to the stored position.

A blockage detection is carried out with the help of the position detection. The adjustment is terminated immediately if a blockage is detected.
