AZ82.70-P-0005-02GZA Retrofit Hands-Free System Wiring Harness

Component Identification:






1 Remove MOST connector (22) from standard radio connector and install in radio adapter connector (14).

Risk of breakage. Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.







2 Connect standard radio connector (13) to radio adapter plug (12).
3 Connect radio adapter connector (14) to COMMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).







4 Route hands-free microphone plug (10) of microphone wiring branch-off line (15) along existing lines underneath the instrument panel on the right and to the right A-pillar and up to the headliner and secure using self-adhesive felt in such a way to prevent chafing and noise.

At the right A-pillar, ensure when routing the lines that they are routed in front of the front check strap for the windowbag toward the windshield so as not to impair the function of the windowbag

5 Route hands-free microphone plug (10) for microphone wiring branch-off line (15) behind the headliner to the inside rearview mirror.







6 Stick hands-free microphone (16) to mirror base as shown in the figure using the selfadhesive backing and connect hands-free microphone connector (17) to hands-free microphone plug (10).

Align microphone opening to face the driver. Wrap self-adhesive felt around all retrofitted connectors and secure together with wiring harnesses in such a way to prevent chafing and noise.







7 Attach speaker (18) to cover (17) as shown in the figure using two sheet metal nuts (20) and two sheet metal screws (21).
8 Attach wiring harness (19) of speaker (18) to the cover (17) using felt tape.







9 Cut off each of the three bridges (see broken lines) in the cover (17).
10 Reinstall cover (17) and connect the plug for the speaker (18) to the speaker connector on the hands-free system wiring harness that is still available.
