General function requirements
^ Power window and tilting/sliding roof (with code (414) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof ) or panoramic sliding roof (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding roof) normalized
Convenience feature (CF), general
The side windows and the tilting/sliding roof (with code (414) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof ) or panoramic sliding roof (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding roof) and vent window (with code (848) Electric side vent window) can be opened and closed centrally with the CF function.
The CF function comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key (A8/1)
^ Function sequence for comfort actuation via air recirculation button (except code (494) USA version)
^ Function sequence for comfort actuation via KEYLESS-GO (with code (889) KEYLESS-GO)
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via transmitter key
^ C. 15C OFF
^ Doors closed
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key
When the "Lock" or "Unlock" transmitter button on the transmitter key is actuated and held down, it transmits an infrared signal to the left front IR receiver (A26/1) (precise aiming required). This signal is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1) and transmitted to the EIS control unit (N73). The EIS control unit checks the transmitter key for access authorization and enables the requested function.
After enabling the left front door control unit transmits the "opening" or "closing" signal to the following control unit depending on the request via the interior CAN.
- Right front door control unit (N69/2)
- Front SAM control unit (N10)
- Rear SAM control unit (N10/8)
- Overhead control panel control unit (N70)
The left front door control unit actuates the left front power window motor (M10/3), the right front door control unit actuates right front power window motor (M10/4), the front SAM control unit actuates the left rear power window motor (M10/5) and right rear power window motor (M10/6) to close or open the side windows according to the request.
With code (414) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof the overhead control panel control unit actuates the SR motor (M12m1) to close or open the tilting/sliding roof according to the request. With code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding roof, the overhead control panel control unit actuates the panoramic sliding roof drive unit 1 (M12/6), the panoramic sliding roof drive unit 2 (M12/7) and roller sun blind drive unit (M12/5) to open or the panoramic roof and the roller sun blind according to the request.
With code (848) Electric side vent window, the rear SAM control unit actuates the left vent window motor (M21/8) and right side vent window (M21/9) to open and close the vent window according to the request.
Actuation is accomplished as long as the transmitter key is actuated.
Anti-pinch protection is not active during closing.
On vehicles with panoramic sliding roof, the roller sun blind is opened before the panoramic roof is opened by the comfort opening function. The panoramic sliding roof is opened only after a new opening request.
With convenience closing, the roller sun blind is actuated only after the panoramic sliding roof is closed completely or when a new request is present.
Additional function requirements for convenience feature via air recirculation button
^ Circuit 15 On
Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function
Comfort opening or closing is required via the following switches:
- Air recirculation switch (N22s2) (without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
- Air recirculation switch (N22/7s2) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
The status of the air recirculation switch is read in bt the following control unit:
- AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
- Comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
The request is transmitted to the following control units via the interior CAN:
- Door control module front left
- Door control module front right
- Front SAM control unit
- Rear SAM control unit
- Overhead control panel control unit
The left front door control unit actuates the left front power window motor, the right front door control unit actuates the right front power window motor, the front SAM control unit actuates the left rear power window motor and right rear power window motor to open and close the side windows according to the request. With code (414) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof, the overhead control panel control unit actuates the SR motor to open and close the tilting/sliding roof according to the request.
With code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding roof, the overhead control panel control unit actuates the panoramic sliding roof drive unit 1, the panoramic sliding roof drive unit 2 and roller sun blind drive unit to open or close the panoramic roof and the roller sun blind according to the request.
With code (848) Electric side vent window, the rear SAM control unit actuates the left vent window motor and right side vent window to open and close the vent window according to the request.
Actuation is accomplished as long as the air recirculation switch is actuated.
Anti-pinch protection is not active during closing.
The convenience opening feature with recirculated air is accomplished only when previously closed with convenience closing via recirculated air.
The current positions of the side windows, the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic sliding roof are stored when closed with the air recirculation switch.
The next time the windows are opened with the air recirculation switch, they move to the previously stored positions.
On vehicles with panoramic sliding roof, the roller sun blind is opened with the comfort opening function before the panoramic roof is opened. The panoramic sliding roof is opened only after a new opening request.
With convenience closing, the roller sun blind is actuated only after the panoramic sliding roof is closed completely or when a new request is present.
Additional function requirements for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO
^ Circuit 15 Off
^ A transmitter key is located outside of the vehicle and in the vicinity (s = 1 m) of the actuated left front KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/1), right front KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/2), left rear KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/3) or right rear KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/4).
^ Doors closed and vehicle locked
Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO
The comfort closing function is only possible via the KEYLESS-GO function.
The signal from the actuated KEYLESS-GO door handle is read in by the KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5) and transmitted to the EIS control unit via the interior CAN. The EIS control unit checks the transmitter key for access authorization and enables the requested function.
The KEYLESS-GO control unit transmits the signal "Close" to the following control units after enabling via the interior CAN:
- Door control module front left
- Door control module front right
- Front SAM control unit
- Rear SAM control unit
- Overhead control panel control unit
The left front door control unit actuates the left front power window motor, the right front door control unit actuates the right front power window motor, the front SAM control unit actuates the left rear power window motor and right rear power window motor to close the side windows.
With code (414) Electric glass tilting/sliding roof the overhead control panel control unit actuates the SR motor to close the tilting/sliding roof.
With code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding roof, the overhead control panel control unit actuates the panoramic sliding roof drive unit 1, the panoramic sliding roof drive unit 2 and roller sun blind drive unit to close the panoramic roof and the roller sun blind.
With code (848) Electric side vent window, the rear SAM control unit actuates the left vent window motor and right side vent window to close the vent window.
On vehicles with panoramic sliding roof, during comfort closing the roller sun blinds are actuated only after the panoramic sliding roof is closed completely and a new request is present.
Convenience closing is interrupted in the following cases:
- If another KEYLESS-GO door handle is touched
- If the KEYLESS-GO door handle is not touched
- after max. t = 90 s
- If another central locking command is present
If the same KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled during comfort closing, or max. t = 2 s thereafter, emergency opening is activated. In this case, the windows, the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic sliding roof are actuated in the opening direction. Actuation is performed for min. t = 2 s or as long as the KEYLESS-GO door handle is pulled, max. t = 90 s.
