GF80.61-P-2008GM Locking/Unlocking, Function

GF80.61-P-2008GM Locking/Unlocking, Function
- with CODE (889) Keyless Go

Function requirements, general
^ Valid transmitter key (A8/1) outside of vehicle (maximum approx. distance of 1 m to one control element)
^ No valid transmitter key in EIS control unit (N73)

Locking/unlocking, general
Locking/unlocking allows the vehicle to be opened and closed.

The following control elements are available:

To lock and unlock:
- Left front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/1)
- Right front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/2)
- Left rear KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/3)
- Right rear KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/4)

To unlock:
- Liftgate handle switch (S88/9)
- Spare tire carrier switch open S151/3 (with code (849) Spare tire holder/spare tire)

Locking/unlocking comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for preadjustment of unlocking mode
^ Function sequence for locking/unlocking one vehicle door
^ Function sequence for unlocking tailgate
^ Function sequence for unlocking spare tire carrier (with code (849) Spare tire holder/spare tire)

All sensors in the KEYLESS GO door handles are switched off when switching on circuit 15. The sensors are activated when the circuit 15 is switched off and a door is opened.

The inner capacitive sensor is switched off after t = 72 h to save the battery (G1).

After switching off, the vehicle can no longer be unlocked by touching the KEYLESS GO door handle (recognized by the inner capacitive sensor). The KEYLESS GO door handle must be pulled.

Function sequence for preadjustment of unlocking mode
If the unlock and lock buttons on the transmitter key are actuated simultaneously for t = 5 s, the locking mode is changed. The LED on the transmitter key comes on to confirm this change.

The following types of unlocking are possible:
- Global unlocking:
The entire vehicle can be unlocked by gripping and pulling a KEYLESS GO door handle.

- Selective unlocking (only possible on driver door):
Only the driver door and the fuel filler flap are unlocked by gripping and pulling the left front KEYLESS GO door handle. If the transmitter key is set to selective unlocking and the triggering location for unlocking is not the left front KEYLESS GO door handle, the vehicle is unlocked globally.

Function sequence for locking/unlocking one vehicle door

Unlocking possibilities:
- Gripping any KEYLESS GO door handle (global or selective opening) or
- Pulling any KEYLESS GO door handle (global or selective opening)

Locking possibilities:
- touching outside of KEYLESS GO door handle or
- actuating convenience sensor on KEYLESS GO door handle

Unlocking (described for left front door as example):
The inner capacitive sensor recognizes if the left front KEYLESS GO door handle is gripped.
This signal is read in by the KEYLESS GO control unit (N69/5).
The KEYLESS GO control unit then actuates the left rear door KEYLESS GO antenna (A2/39) which transmits a wakeup signal to the transmitter key.

The transmitter key transmits its access authorization code and its position to the roof antenna module (A2/93), which relays the data to the KEYLESS GO control unit. The KEYLESS GO control unit transmits the access authorization code to the EIS control unit via interior CAN.

If the access authorization code is valid, the EIS control unit transmits the command "Open central locking (CL)" to the front SAM control unit (N10), rear SAM control unit (N10/8), left front door control unit (N69/1) and right front door control unit (N69/2).

They then unlock the following components:
- Right front door CL [ZV] motor (M14/5)
- Left front door CL [ZV] motor (M14/6)
- Left rear door CL [ZV] motor (M14/8)
- Right rear door CL [ZV] motor (M14/9)
- Fuel filler flap CL [ZV] motor (M14/10)

The rear-end door handle switch is enabled to unlock the tailgate and the spare tire carrier control button to unlock the rear SAM control unit.

Locking (described for left front door as example):
The outer capacitive sensor in the left front KEYLESS GO door handle recognizes if a door handle is gripped from the outside. All other function sequences are performed as described previously for "Unlocking".

If one of the doors is opened, the vehicle is not locked.

Additional function requirements for tailgate
^ Spare tire carrier switch open (S151/2) actuated (with code (849) Spare tire holder/spare tire)

Function sequence for unlocking tailgate
The rear SAM control unit recognizes when the rear-end door handle switch is actuated and signals it to the KEYLESS GO control unit via interior CAN. The KEYLESS GO control unit then actuates the luggage compartment KEYLESS GO antenna (A2/35), which transmits a wakeup signal to the transmitter key.

The transmitter key transmits its access authorization code and its position to the roof antenna module, which relays the data to the KEYLESS GO control unit. The KEYLESS GO control unit transmits the access authorization code to the EIS control unit via interior CAN.

The access authorization code is valid, the EIS control unit transmits the command "Unlock" to the rear SAM control unit. This enables the signal for the rear-end door handle switch and then actuates the rear-end door locking unit (A72).

Additional function requirements for unlocking spare tire carrier
^ Spare tire carrier switch locked (S151/1) actuated

Function sequence for unlocking spare tire carrier
The rear SAM control unit recognizes when the spare tire carrier control button is actuated and signals it to the KEYLESS GO control unit via interior CAN.
The KEYLESS GO control unit then actuates the trunk KEYLESS GO antenna, which transmits a wakeup signal to the transmitter key.
The transmitter key transmits its access authorization code and its position to the roof antenna module, which relays the data to the KEYLESS GO control unit. The KEYLESS GO control unit antitransmits the access authorization code to the EIS control unit via interior CAN.

The access authorization code is valid, the EIS control unit transmits the command "Unlock" to the rear SAM control unit. This enables the signal for the spare tire carrier control button and then actuates the spare tire carrier CL motor (M14/13).

On vehicles with code (890) EASY PACK tailgate, the tailgate can be closed with the rear-end door closing system button (S62/26) when the spare tire carrier is opened and the vehicle can then be locked. The RWTS button is read in by the rear-end door closing system control unit (N121/1). The rear-end door closing system control unit transmits the status of the RWTS button via the interior CAN.

On vehicles with code (551) Anti-theft alarm (ATA), the antitransmits theft alarm (ATA) is activated or deactivated with each type of locking or unlocking.
