GF82.30-P-3008GM Wiper Start Suppression Function

General function requirements
^ C. 15R On

Wiper start suppression, general
The wiper start suppression function prevents the wiper motor (M6/1) from being actuated even when a wiper request is present.

The wiper start suppression function comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for wiper start suppression activation
^ Function sequence for wiper start suppression deactivation

Additional function requirements for wiper start suppression activation
^ Vehicle speed V ≤ 3 km/h
^ Combination switch (S4) in position "1" or "2"

Function sequence for wiper start suppression activation
Opening the left front door is recognized by the left front door rotary tumbler microswitch (M14/6s1), opening the right front door via the right front door rotary tumbler microswitch (M14/5s1). Both microswitches are read in by the rear SAM control unit (N10/8).

The signals from the microswitches are transmitted to the front SAM control unit (N10) via interior CAN. The front SAM control unit evaluates these signals and interrupts actuation of the wiper motor. The wipers remain in the park position.

The instrument cluster (A1) transmits the signal for the vehicle speed to the front SAM control unit via the interior CAN.

The position of the combination switch is read in by the steering column tube module (N80) and transmitted to the engine compartment CAN. The central gateway control unit (N93) routes the signals to the interior CAN.

Opening the driver/front passenger door does not interrupt wiper operation that is currently in progress. The wipers move t the park position.

Function sequence for wiper start suppression deactivation
Deactivation of the wiper startup suppression and repeated actuation of the wiper motor are performed by one of the following events:
- Vehicle speed v > 3 km/h
- Combination switch in position "3" or "4"
- Driver and front passenger door closed and intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) signals drive stage "D" or "R" engaged.
