The rear entertainment system is the entire entertainment system for the rear passenger(s). Applications can be operated in the following menu items:
- "Disk":
- "TV", with code (863) Digital/analog TV tuner
- "AUX"
- "System"

The rear entertainment system comprises the following main components:
- Left rear display (A40/5)
- Right rear display (A40/6)
- DVD player (A40/4)
- Remote control
- Infrared (IR) headphones (cordless) or headphones connected by a cable

The following components are also used by the rear entertainment system but are not essential for using the rear entertainment system:
- COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3), with code (528) COMAND with DVD changer or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
- TV combination tuner (analog/digital) (A90/1), with code (863) TV tuner digital/analog
- TV antenna 1 via left antenna amplifier module (A2/64), with code (863) Digital/analog TV tuner
- TV antenna 2 and TV antenna 3 via TV rear window antenna amplifier (A2/92), with code (863) Digital/analog TV tuner
- TV antenna 4 via right antenna amplifier module (A2/65), with code (863) Digital/analog TV tuner
- Amplifier for sound system (N40/3), with code (528) COMAND with DVD changer or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer and with code (810) Sound system
- Vehicle speaker system, with code (528) COMAND with DVD changer or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
