Task
The upper control panel control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of switches and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of switches and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Instrument panel LIN (LIN 1)
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
The signals from the switches in the upper control panel control
unit are read in directly.

LIN 1
The following components are read in via LIN 1:
- Rotary light switch (S1)
- Lower control panel control unit (N72) (model 164)

Interior CAN
The following sensors and information are read-in over the interior CAN:
- From the instrument cluster (A1):
- Dimming of instrument illumination
