Heating Capacity Test

ACC Push-Button Control Panel:

1. Position the probes of a suitable temperature gauge into the left and right defroster outlets.
2. Depress the DEFROST (a) push-button on the automatic climate control (ACC) control panel.
3. Run the engine at operating temperature, at approx. 2000 rpm for 5 minutes. The temperature reading should be:

Greater than 55°C (131°F)

If the correct temperature is not attained:

- Check the (auxiliary) recirculating coolant pump.
- Check or replace the mono valve as necessary.
- Flush the cooling system and repeat the test.

If the correct values are still not attained replace the heat exchanger (heater core). SEE Heat Exchanger. Service and Repair
