Removal and installation of instrument panelRemoval
1 Remove glove compartment. Service and Repair
2 Remove left and right covers underneath instrument panel. Service and Repair
3 Remove left and right window keys on windshield. Reveal Molding on Windshield, Removal/Installation
4 Remove cover for both loudspeakers. Service and Repair
5 Remove screws at loudspeaker opening.
6 Remove combination switch. Service and Repair
7 Press off rotary light switch knob.
8 Unscrew nut on rotary light switch (wrench size 24 mm).
9 Detach chain at parking brake.
10 Pull air hoses off of left and right side ring nozzles.
11 Detach connecting lever (arrow) for fresh air flap and pull off connecting hose between heater box and both center fresh air nozzles.
12 Unscrew bolt on support, counterholding nut.
13 Unscrew left and right bolts underneath instrument panel.
14 Pull both plugs off of glove compartment light switch.
15 If loudspeakers are installed, disconnect wires at plug coupling.
16 Lift instrument panel somewhat so that defroster jets can slide out of heater box.
17 Remove instrument panel at right side first.
Installation
18 Slide instrument panel from right side into left corner at front panel pillar.
19 Press instrument panel forward so that defroster jets can connect on heater box correctly.
20 Continue installation in reverse sequence of removal.
