Level Controller Tests

Level Controller Tests

126 Series

Level controller lever must not be moved more than 45 degrees from the center position. Movement past this point may cause damage to valve balls, resulting in internal regulator leaks.
1. Disconnect level controller connecting rod.
2. With suspension system pressurized and engine running, move level controller lever up to ``F'' (filling) position, then down to ``L'' (emptying) position and ensure level drops.

3. With adjusting switch in ``N'' position and level controller lever in center position, measure distance ``a'', Fig. 4, from housing to lever.
4. Move adjusting switch to ``H'' position and run engine for 25 seconds at approximately 2500 RPM.
5. When upward movement had ended, measure distance ``a'', Fig. 4. The difference between first and second measurements must be at least .295 inch (7.mm).
6. Move adjusting switch back to ``N'' position and ensure distance ``a'', Fig. 4, measures the same as originally recorded.
7. Check controller locking function by moving adjusting switch from ``N'' to ``S'' position. After approximately 10 seconds has elapsed, move level controller lever to ``L'' (emptying) position and ensure vehicle level does not change.
8. Check controller unlocking function by moving adjusting switch into ``N'' position and level controller lever into ``L'' (emptying) position and ensuring vehicle level drops.
