Clutch Body With Pulley, Magnetic Coil and Bearing
Removal:
1. Remove spring plate.
2. Remove circlip (5). Mark location of magnetic coil connections.
3. Insert guide piece over shaft and onto head of the a/c compressor.
4. Use puller to remove assembly.
5. Bend back lock washers from the hexagon head bolts and remove the six bolts together with the lock washers.
6. Remove the pulley from the clutch body, then remove the magnetic coil from the pulley.
Bearing Removal:
7. Place clutch body (3) on a wooden support surface and press out bearing (6). It is not necessary to remove the notches for bearing removal.
Bearing Installation:
8. Align the new bearing (6) precisely with the hub opening and then press in.
9. Punch mark bearing at 3 points spaced at 120°. Do not punch too deeply, as this could result in deformation of the bearing outer race. Do not reuse old notches!
Installation:
10. Insert magnetic coil (9) in pulley (7). Press clutch body (3) into the pulley (7) and use new lock washers and bolts to screw it on temporarily. Use Loctite on the threads of the bolts.
11. Place the complete assembly on the front housing cover. Before the assembly is pressed on all the way ensure that the connections for the magnetic coil are in the correct position relative to the a/c compressor. and that the three protrusions on the back of the magnetic coil are aligned with the three recesses in the housing cover.
12. Install circlip (5) for assembly
13. Clean friction surfaces of spring plate and clutch body.
14. Rotate the pulley with the clutch body to check whether the pulley is aligned properly. If not, readjust pulley.
15. Tighten bolts (8) for pulley/clutch body. Lock down the bolt heads in the same way that they were retained before disassembly.
16. Install a/c compressor.
