Testing Vacuum Circuits IV, V and VI
A. Testing Vacuum Circuit IV With Vacuum Element (40) For Center Nozzle And Check Valve (45):
1. Remove glove box.
2. Remove righthand cover under instrument panel.
3. Remove righthand lateral lining of center console.
4. Pull vacuum line red/light blue from distributor (49) and close connection on distributor by means of a blind plug.
5. Pull distributor (49) from switchover valve (13) and connect tester.
6. Evacuate vacuum circuit IV, while paying attention to operation of center nozzle flap. If pressure in pressure gauge increases, check vacuum element (40) or check valve (45) individually and replace, if required.
B. Testing Vacuum Circuit V With Vacuum Element (39) For Footwell Flaps:
1. Pull vacuum line red/yellow from switchover valve (14) and connect tester.
2. Evacuate vacuum circuit V, while paying attention to operation of footwell flaps. In the event of a pressure increase on pressure gauge, replace vacuum element (39).
C. Testing Vacuum Circuit VI With Vacuum Element (41) For Diverter Flap:
1. Pull vacuum line green from switchover valve (18) and connect tester.
2. Evacuate vacuum circuit VI. In the event of a pressure increase on pressure gauge, replace vacuum element (41).
3. Install cover at right under instrument panel.
4. Install glove box.
5. Install right lateral lining of center console.
