SUBJECT: PRE-LOAD FIXTURE FOR MEASURING TAPERED ROLLER BEARING PRE-LOAD 5-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION TYPES 717.41/.4
A pre-load fixture is available to measure and adjust, in a more accurate and less time consuming way, the pre-load of the tapered roller bearing on the transmission input shaft and the countershaft.


Note: During transmission repairs or in cases of rattling noise complaints in all gears at engine speeds of 3000 to 3400 rpm. (during no-load condition), the pre-load must be measured.
