DATE: May 1989

REF. NO.: 72/45

SUBJECT: MODIFIED SLIDING AND GUIDE BLOCKS FOR FRONT DOOR WINDOWS
MODELS 124.050, 126.04

As of November 1988, modified sliding blocks and rubber backings are installed in the window guide blocks for smoother operation.

The modified parts can also be installed in models prior to production phase-in.

To install parts in prior production models, two holes (for the additional locating tab on each sliding block), must be drilled into each of the existing guide block.

Procedure:

1. Remove the two sliding blocks and rubber backings from the previously removed guide block (Figure 2).

2. Drill through the existing holes in the guide block with a 5 mm drill (Figure 3).
Using existing hole on each side of the guide block as a pilot (arrow), drill through the guide block with a 5 mm drill. After drilling first hole, turn guide block over and drill through second pilot hole (Figure 3).

3. Insert new sliding blocks with two locating tabs each (arrow) and rubber backings (with 2 holes each for locating tabs). The two locating tabs of each sliding block must engage the holes in the guide block (Figure 4).
4. Coat sliding block with MB sliding paste 001 989 14 51. In- stall guide block an window and adjust window (Service Microfiche Repair Instructions, Group 72, Job No. 195)
