Vacuum Circuit 6 (Fresh Air/Recirculating Air)

NOTE: Ignition is OFF.

1. Remove left cover under instrument panel.
2. Remove optional switch.
3. Remove optional switch cover.
4. Remove glove box.

Switchover Valves ACC:

Air Jet, Blower Cage, Fresh/Recirculate Air Flap Vacuum Element:

5. Pull green vacuum line from switchover valve (18) and connect to vacuum tester.
6. Evacuate to approx. 400 mbar vacuum (12 in. Hg) while paying attention to operation of fresh air/recirculating air flap and watch tester gauge.
7. If the reading on the tester changes, check vacuum line and vacuum element (41) for leaks and replace as required.
8. Install cover for optional switch.
9. Install optional switch.
10. Install left cover under instrument panel.
11. Install glove box.

Vacuum Circuit Tests 4(IV), 5(V), 6(VI):

41 = Vacuum element for fresh air/recirculating air flap (position "fresh air")
44 = Throttle (orifice)
