Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

AP09.10-P-0980-01B Remove/install Air Cleaner Element

A Models with diesel engine
1 Open retaining clip of filter bowl.
2 Remove upper part of bowl and take out filter element (2)
3 Clean filter bowl and sealing surfaces.
4 Install in the reverse sequence.







B Models with gasoline engine
1.1 Pull off hose for crankcase ventilation (4) (models with engine 103).
2 Open retaining clip on upper part of filter bowl (5) and unscrew nuts (6).
3 Remove upper part of bowl and take out filter element
4 Clean filter bowl, gaskets and sealing surfaces.

5 On engine 117.965 only (V8)
In addition to changing the engine air cleaner element (1), change the air pump air cleaner element (2).
To do this, unscrew the filter element (2) on the air cleaner housing.
6 Install in the reverse sequence.
Ensure it is correctly seated on the sealing surfaces.
Ensure that the retaining clip is correctly seated and sufficiently tensioned.
