SUBJECT: APPLICATION OF ANTI-CORROSION MATERIAL IN THE AREA OF THE ATTIC SEAT BELT RETRACTORS MODELS 107, 114, 115, 116, 123, 124, 126, 201
When performing accident repair or body panel replacement, it is extremely important that the precautions and instructions are strictly followed (see respective microfiche, "Body, assembly jobs").
WARNING! Avoid spraying any anti-corrosion material in the area of the
automatic seat belt retractors, as this may impair the function of the retractor by introducing foreign material onto the belt, into the pendulum or other components of the system. This will reduce the occupant safety feature designed into our vehicles.
It is recommended that the seat belt retractors first be removed before applying any anti-corrosion material in the area of the retractors. After the second application of anti-corrosion material has dried, reinstall the seat belt retractors.
The anti-corrosion materials applied to the vehicles at the factory are the final measure that need to be taken with regard to corrosion protection. Any subsequent application of anti-corrosion material, except following accident repair or body panel replacement, is not required nor recommended.
