Evacuating

Fig. 5 Refrigerant System Service Connections:

1. Remove high and low service valve protective caps.
2. Connect manifold gauge set, Fig. 5, then open gauge set valves, then close filling cylinder or refrigerant container valve.
3. Operate vacuum pump and evacuate system for at least 15 minutes.
4. Once .918-1.02 square inch (.9-1.0 bar) vacuum is reached, close gauge valves.
5. Close filling cylinder valve, then stop vacuum pump.
6. After at least 10 minutes, open gauge valves.
7. If vacuum pressure is below specifications more than .153 square inch (.15 bar), the system has not been evacuated long enough or a system leak is indicated.
