Component Identification:
On vehicles up to production date 18.1.04 the oil filler and oil drain screws (screw plugs) on all rear axle center assemblies are being modified. This is necessary due to the new EU old car regulation.
The oil filler screws and oil drain screws must always be replaced after being unscrewed from the rear axle center assembly.
The new screws as well as the tapped holes must be cleaned with a special cleaning spray and the screws must be provided with a special sealing compound
The previous screws are gold/yellow colored with a series production coating of white solid matter sealing compound. The new screws are silver-colored without a series production coating of sealing compound.
