Remove/Install Instrument Panel
Removal and installation of panelRemoval
1. Remove glovebox.
2. Remove cover left and right under panel. Remove/Install Cover Under Instrument Panel
3. Remove reveal molding left and right on windshield.
4. Remove covering for both front speakers.
5. Remove instrument cluster. Service and Repair
6. Pull out temperature sensor for heater in upward direction.
7. Unscrew screw on speaker cutout left and right.
8. Pull-off control knob for rotary light switch.
9. Unscrew nut on rotary light switch (width between flats 24 mm) and remove rotary light switch.
10. Remove covering on rotary light switch and pull off connections on switch for light range regulator.
11. Disconnect chain on parking brake.
12. Pull off hoses on air jets outside left and right.
13. Remove radio.
14. Pull off control knobs for blower and air distributor switch.
15. Unscrew nuts on control unit (width between flats 24 mm).
16. Push off lower molding, pull off plug connections on switcthes and remove molding.
17. Unscrew screws on center console.
18. Push off holding clip on cable control for non-heatable fresh air outside on panel left and disconnect cable control on flap.
19. Push off holding clip on cable control for non-heatable fresh air outside on panel right and disconnect cable control on flap.
20. Pull cable control at the right above cardan tunnel to the left.
21. Push out clips on heater box connection to center jet on panel and pull off rubber sleeve.
22. Unscrew adjusting screw for non-heatable fresh air, center.
23. Push off covering between defroster nozzles.
24. Unscrew fastening screw in center.
25. Unscrew fastening screw at left and right below on panel.
26. With speakers installed, separate connecting cable on plug coupling.
27. Pull-off electric connections on switch for glove box light.
28. Slightly raise panel so that defroster nozzles can slide out of heater box.
29. Pull-off lightng cable for control levers on air jets, panel center on distributor.
30. Remove steering wheel.
31. Pull-off connecting hose for inner sensor on panel.
32. Remove panel on righthand side first.
Installation
Note: Adjust panel by turning the three supporting points in such a manner that the upper edge is in alignment with the tinting on windshield.
33. Slide panel from the right into lefthand corner on front wall pillar.
34. Push panel forward and introduce defroster nozzles on heater box.
35. Position fastening screws at left and right below on panel.
36. Align panel vertically in such a manner that the wooden veneer strip of panel is in alignment with wooden vaneer strip of drivers door.
37. Tighten fastening screww at left and right below on panel.
38. Push-in temperature sensor. Install connecting hose and plug coupling.
Note: Illustration shows connection point with panel removed.
39. Screw-in adjusting screw on flap for non-heatable fresh air, center, and adjust in such a manner that the flap closes under a slight preload.
40. For further installation proceed vice versa.
Note: When mounting control knobs, make sure that the symbols on control knobs are in alignment with function.
