Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Clearing Codes:
With Impulse Counter
1. Connect Pulse Meter/Impulse Counter. Connecting Impulse Counter
2. Press Start button on the Impulse Counter for no less than 2 seconds and no more than 4 seconds, impulse readout should be displayed. Note down the displayed output. Press start button again for between 2 and 4 seconds. If the previous number appears again there are no additional faults in the system.
NOTE: Each pulse displayed must be cleared individually.
3. To clear the code(s) depress start button for at least 6 seconds and no more than 8 seconds, this will erase displayed impulse readout.
4. Repeat step 3 for each stored code.
5. Confirm that all codes are erased by repeating step 2.
With Jumper Wire on X92 Connector:
1. Bridge terminal 1 (ground) with terminal 6 of the 8 or 16 pole test connection for between 2 and 4 seconds with a jumper wire. The impulse readout should be displayed by means of a blinking "SRS' lamp in the instrument cluster.
2. Wait 3 seconds, then jump terminals 1 and 6 again for between 6 and 8 seconds. This will erase displayed impulse readout.
3. Repeat step 2 for each stored code.
4. Repeat procedure to ensure that all codes are erased.
When removing one or both front seats, the SRS warning lamp will come on if the ignition key is in position "1" or "2". The light will go out once the seat electrical connectors are reconnected but a code "5" and/or "6" will be stored. The codes must be erased.
