Function of automatic antenna

A Up to model year 1990

With the radio switched on, the antenna can be positioned in three different positions with the antenna switch.





Antenna switch in center position
The antenna automatically extends for approx. 30 cm when the radio is switched on. By briefly touching the switch the antenna can be further extended to the position most favorable for reception.

Antenna switch engaged in extended position
The antenna extends to the full length.

Note: If the radio is switched off or the key in the steering lock turned to position 0, the antenna is fully retracted.

Antenna switch engaged in retracted position
The antenna does not extend, e.g. for cassette operation or the antenna is fully retracted if it was previously extended.

Antenna switch in center position
When the radio is switched on, voltage reaches the relay coil a via the antenna switch and closes the contacts b and e.

From the fuse g (terminal 30) the antenna motor is connected to positive via the contacts d, c and b and to negative via the contact e.

The motor starts and the antenna moves out. After the antenna has moved out approx. 30 cm, the contact C is automatically opened and the circuit for the electric motor is interrupted.








Note Hirschmann antenna Auta 6000 EL
The automatic antenna Auta 6000 EL replaces the Auta 6000 U antenna. If the Auta 6000 U antenna has to be replaced on vehicles, additional work is required. The parts required are included in the scope of delivery of the antenna.

Scope of work

1 Insert rubber seal in antenna bore.
2 Install adapter line between previous connection and the new antenna.
3 Remove antenna switch and fit contact bridge to connector 1 and 2.
4 Install antenna switch.

B. As of model year 1991

The automatic antenna extends to the maximum length as soon as the radio is switched on. The manual adjustment of the automatic antenna with the antenna switch is no longer available
