Routine Maintenance/General Information
The MERCEDES-BENZ maintenance system includes all the necessary work which should be performed at regular service intervals if the vehicle is used under normal operating conditions. The MB maintenance system includes four different services as outlined below.The service sheet shows all of the different procedures that are to be performed for each service. The service sheet also shows how often each service and/or procedure should be performed. Maintenance System Sheets (Service Sheets)
When performing the service, check the box to the left of each procedure (after completion) on the service sheet to indicate that that job has been completed. If you notice that any particular job needs further attention or service, check the box to the right of the job and make a notation on the repair order.
Routine Maintenance
- Inspection Service:
- Up through model year 1991,
once at first 800 - 1,000 miles/1,300 - 1,600 km
- As of model year 1992,
once at first 800 - 3,000 miles/1,300 - 5,000 km
- Lubrication Service:
- All diesel models except 140.134
every 5,000 miles/8,000 km
- All gasoline models and diesel model 140.034
every 7,500 miles/12,000 km
- Maintenance Service:
- every 15,000 miles/24,000 km
- Additional Work:
- every 30,000 miles/48,000 km
In cases of low mileage operation (vehicle is driven infrequently), the maintenance service should be carried out at least once every 2 years.
