Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Fuel Injector Assembly:

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly and attached hoses.
2. Remove the injection lines from the fuel distributor and the injectors.
3. Remove the mounting screws and injector retainers.
4. Pull out the fuel injector.
5. Remove the rubber sealing ring.

NOTE: Do not lift out the air shrouded insulating sleeve when pulling out the fuel injector or seal.

6. Reinstall in reverse manner. Torque the mounting screw to approx. 7 - 11 ft. lbs. (10 - 15 Nm).

AIR SHROUDED INSULATING SLEEVE REMOVAL

Supply For Air Shroulding:

7. Remove the auxiliary air hoses.
8. With special pliers pull out the insulating sleeve.
9. Replace the O-ring.
10. Reinstall in reverse manner. Do not use silicone based lubricants when reinstalling insulating sleeve and rubber seals.
