ADDITIONAL BRAKE LATHE APPROVED FOR STANDARD EQUIPMENT PROGRAM
MBNA has tested and approved the use of the Accu Industries, Inc. Model 8944 Multi-Speed Combination Brake Lathe (Figure 1). Accu Industries' one-cut finish design allows the resurfacing of brake discs in one pass, making this a simple, fast and efficient operation.
The superior performance is a by-product of the lathe design. Massive dove tail ways are adjustable for wear. The alloy spindle assembly runs on tapered roller bearings, also adjustable for wear. This lathe is capable of machining drums, rotors and flywheels. Utilizing 3 spindle speeds and infinitely variable feed speed, this lathe is capable of producing superior finishes on rotors and drums.

As an accessory to the model 8944 multi-speed combination brake lathe, MBNA recommends the use of the Non-Directional Brake Disc Finisher (arrow, Figure 2). This finisher simultaneously provides nondirectional finish to both sides of the brake disc which will not affect accuracy. It mounts permanently to the brake lathe.
