Owner Letter

Dear Mercedes-Benz Owner:

This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966. Mercedes-Benz of North America, Inc. has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in certain 1990 Model Year Mercedes-Benz 300SL or 500SL vehicles.

Tires on the left side of some vehicles might have been slightly damaged during transit in Jacksonville. If the tire is damaged, a loss of tire pressure may occur resulting in deterioration of vehicle handling characteristics.

In order to determine whether the tires on your Mercedes-Benz vehicle were damaged, we urge you to immediately contact your local authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer for an appointment to have the tires checked and if necessary replaced. To ensure tire availability, when making the appointment please be prepared to advise the dealer of the brand of tires which are on your vehicle. The inspection and exchange will be performed at no charge to you.
