HERMANN ELECTRONICS DIAGNOSTIC ENGINE ANALYZERS (APPROVED FOR MBNA STANDARD SERVICE EQUIPMENT PROGRAM)





MBNA has approved the use of specific Hermann Electronics diagnostic engine analyzers (Figure 1) available via Pierburg Instruments Inc., Auburn Hills, MI. Model D960S is available for the full service MB Dealer and Model D950 for the MB Service Center. These units are specifically packaged for the MB vehicles in the US market and contain measurement and diagnostic functions to direct the user in the diagnosis of modern engines as well as previous, older MB engines. The system uses several microprocessors and can process a wide variety of signals and both units have a user-friendly menu structure and remote control operated keypad to ensure fast and accurate selection and operation of the diagnostic functions. In addition, each analyzer comes complete with the engine specific adapter cable sets to directly connect engines M104/111, M119/120 and engines using ME 1.0 management systems.

Both analyzers are housed in a slim cabinet which minimizes floor space and have an overhead boom to maintain the order of the fundamental cablesets. In addition, their modular construction will ensure that the system can expand to meet increasing future demands for diagnostic equipment and allow for upgrades. Both models are equipped with a print-ready buffer, to allow use of a variety of (purchased separately) printers. The recommended printer is an EPSON LQ 570 or equivalent. Printer must be purchased locally and is not available through the MBNA Standard Service Equipment Program.

Engine Analyzer model D96OMBUS features:
DATATEST D9605 Computer-diagnostic system with these capabilities; battery test, starter test, alternator test, dynamic compression test, cylinder comparison test, frequency and time measurement, idle quality, scope-memory and measurement of special signals (duty cycle, etc.).(Figure 3)

Four additional optional accessories will be available after January 1999.
