All the legal provisions mentioned in this section relate to the Federal Republic of Germany.

Airbag, Side Airbag and Emergency Tensioning Retractor units are pyrotechnic devices of Explosives class T1 or Dangerous Goods Class 1.

Handling, transportation and storage are covered by the "Law Relating To Explosive Substances" (Explosives Act dated 17.04.86) and the Regulations for Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Road (GGVS).

The storage and transportation of pyrotechnic devices of Explosives class T1 or dangerous Goods Class 1 have to be reported to the proper authority.

The acquisition, transportation, storage, installation and removal as well as scrapping of such parts may be performed only by properly qualified persons and in conformity with the relevant safety regulations.
