Disassembly
1. Position differential assembly onto a suitable workbench.
2. Using suitable puller, remove both tapered roller bearing inner races from differential housing.

3. Vehicles equipped with first production model differentials, Fig. 1, using a suitable tool, knock out differential bolt (36) and sleeve (28) from differential housing (31).

4. Vehicles equipped with second production model differentials, Fig. 2, remove differential bolt (16), pinion (15), side gears (17), thrust washer (18) and ball washer (14).
Fig. 3 Positive Traction Differential Components:
5. Vehicles equipped with positive traction differentials, Fig. 3, using a suitable tool, knock out differential bolt (16) and clamping sleeve (19) from differential housing (20). Remove right and left hand friction discs from differential housing.
6. Check each component for wear and damage. Replace all overheated or seized differential pinions, washers and friction discs as required.
