Removal and Installation of Instrument Panel

Removal

1. Remove streeing wheel
2. Remove cover for loudspeaker left and right
3. Remove instrument cluster Service and Repair
4. Remove cover below instrument panel Service and Repair
5. Remove reveal moldings at left and right




6. Unscrew nut on driver's side outside




7. Unscrew screw in loudspeaker cutout left and right
8. Pull out air nozzle on driver's side outside
9. With loudspeakers installed, separate connecting cable at plug coupling.




10. Unscrew adjusting screw on connecting linkage of fresh air flap (hex. socket 4 mm).




11. Pull off operating switch for blower and air distribution, unscrew nuts (24 mm) and screws.
12. Remove molding.




13. Unscrew screws, pull off electric plug connections and remove plate.




14. Pull off switch for heatable back window, push switch carrier at the right forward out of detent and remove at the left toward the rear.




15. Unscrew nuts on connection from center console to instrument panel and remove instrument panel.
16. Slip instrument panel from the right into left- hand corner on front wall pillar.


Installation




17. Push instrument panel forward and insert defroster nozzles on heater box.

Note: When inserting instrument panel, carefully lift the two center fastening screws over center console.




18. Position nut on driver's side outside.




19. Position nuts at connection from center console to instrument panel.
20. Align instrument panel on center console and tighten nuts.
21. Tighten nut outside on driver's side.
22. Insert screw in loudspeaker cutout at left and right and tighten.




23. Insert adjusting screw on connecting linkage of fresh air flap and adjust in such a manner that the flap is closing under a light preload.
24. For further installation proceed vice versa.

Note: When pressing on the control buttons, make sure that the symbols on the control buttons are in agreement with function.
