Note Regarding the Diagnostic ModuleThe diagnostic module functions purely as a data collector. The diagnostic module evaluates only that information which is transmitted over the CAN bus. The actual cause of a stored DTC must be traced back to the respective system being monitored, and subsequently eliminated.

When the following charts refer to testing of another system, Mercedes Benz recommends testing the complete system (ie, Test HFM-SFI System). For your benefit, we have included links to the appropriate section of the system test programs. (ie, ETP SFI -> x.x) This in no way ensures complete correction of all faults of those systems, as not all faults can be read through the Diagnostic Module.
