Disassembling and Assembling Floor Shift Mechanism

Cover (3)
Unclip. clip in.

Shift lever (2)
Remove, install by loosening locknut (12) (up to May '89).

Installation Note
Ensure correct installation position (arrow).

Selector lever handle
Remove, install, loosen clamp in clockwise direction (as of 06/94)

Installation Note
Ensure correct installed position.

Slide (27), cover (9), fibre-optics (7a), cover strip (8), bracket (26), cup seal (25) and any sliding switch for "S" and "E" - program (28)
Remove in sequence and assemble

Fork head (13) with double shank spring (14)
Remove, install by pressing off locking device (16), remove bearing pin (17) and remove plastic bushes (15).

Gasket (22)
Remove, and push in.

Locking device (53)
Press off, press on.

Locator panel (51)
Loosen and remove from housing (1) complete with locking lever (44B, 44L) and cam (48).

Locking levers (44B, 44L)
Remove from locator panel (51).

Installation Note
When assembling, only tighten the screw (52) and nut (57) lightly.
Adjust shift lock.

Shaft (18)
Withdraw, push in, check for wear. Lubricate bearing points with long-life grease.

Cover (61)
Press on after installing the floor shift mechanism and adjusting the shift lock.
