With Impulse Counter Scan Tool

Connect impulse counter scan tool according to connection diagram and follow the steps below. Impulse Counter Scan Tool

a) Press start button for 2 to 4 seconds (DTC appears).
b) Press start button for 6 to 8 seconds, thereby clearing the previously displayed malfunction (DTC) from memory.
c) Repeat steps a) and b) until the number "1" appears (no malfunctions stored).

NOTE: Control modules manufactured by Bosch up to 8/93, the start button must be pressed 5 to 6 seconds to clear the DTC memory.

NOTE: Erasing of stored DTC memory must begin within 20 seconds of reading the DTC. After 20 seconds the DTC can no longer be erased. Erasing procedure can be restarted by performing DTC readout after the fault is again displayed.

NOTE: DTC's which have been stored due to testing or disconnecting of lines must be erased from the DTC memory at the end of testing.
