MODEL 140 VALUE COMMITMENT PROGRAM



The Value Commitment Program includes model year 1992 and early model year 1993 vehicles.

Since the introduction of the model 140 line, S-Class vehicles have undergone improvements and refinements. Customers will receive letters advising them that they will be contacted by their local authorized dealer to have these improvements and enhancements installed on their cars. In addition, Regional Personnel will assist you in our commitment to make this experience as satisfying as possible for the customer. Therefore, we urge you to follow the steps outlined in the Work Instructions and the attached packet of information.


Please pay particular attention to the special parts ordering procedures, which are intended to ensure that parts will be available as needed. It is important that these procedures be followed carefully, so that we may achieve our goal of customer satisfaction.

The attached Work Instructions (no. 284) describe the items to be inspected, the models affected, respective operation code numbers with time allowances, and a list of part numbers required.

It is important to note that the vehicles must be carefully checked to determine if current production components such as hydraulic bushings, updated control modules, vanity mirrors, and outside rear view mirror fold back mechanisms may have already been installed on a previous occasion.

Submit claims using the special damage codes listed in the attached Work Instructions.

Finally, with the vehicle in the service area, this opportunity should be used to also repair any possible problems which are not covered by the Value Commitment Program, but are covered under warranty.
