Complaint: "SRS" Warning Light flickers, lights up intermittently or is constantly lit.

Causes and/or Remedies:

1. Grease film on the slip ring on the steering wheel. Thoroughly clean slip ring (also behind the sliprails). Wash with cleansing petroleum, blow off and rub clean with smooth, clean cloth. If necessary replace slip ring.

2. Check "cold welding joint" on the cable harness assembly with socket box and multimeter while moving the plug connections of the cable harness assembly. Test values must remain constant. Solder on cable harness correctly.

3. Receptacles on plug connections stretched, causing too low bias tension with counterpart. Move 12-pin plug connection (X1/13) during testing cycle (4 seconds) by (A1e15) "SRS" warning light. The warning light must not light up. Connect socket box and multimeter and move plug connectors.
Test values must remain constant.

Replace control device.

7. Airbag unit or seat belt tensioner have been triggered.
Replace parts.

Replace cable.

9. Plug connector for driver's and/or front passenger's seat belt lock not inserted.
Thoroughly insert plug connector, making good contact.

Check battery, generator.
