AR33.20-P-0310A Remove/Install Front Wheel Hub



Removing And Installing Front Wheel Hub







1 Remove front wheel
2 Remove and check brake disc
3 Pull off hub cap (9e)

4 Slacken Alien bolt (9i), unscrew clamping nut (9d) and remove tapered roller bearing (9m)

NOTE: Installation: Adjust wheel bearing play.

5 Pull off front wheel hub (9)

NOTE:
- If wheel hub is difficult to remove
- Installation: Pack front wheel hub with grease, coat radial seal ring and pack space between sealing lip and tapered roller bearing with grease. Push front wheel hub with inner tapered roller bearing and radial seal ring onto kingpin.

6 Check brake splash shield (35)
- If necessary replace

7 Check kingpin (5a) for discoloration and wear on bearing seats or contact surface of radial seal ring

NOTE: Discoloration may be caused e.g. by heat generated due to incorrect bearing play settings. If necessary, replace steering knuckle

8 Check front wheel hub
- Check threaded bores and rotor teeth for damage.

9 Check tapered roller bearing, bearing races and radial seal ring
- If necessary, disassemble and assemble front wheel hub.

NOTE: Model 210.6:
- On vehicles with extended wheelbase the front wheel hub cannot be disassembled.
- The entire front wheel hub must be replaced complete on these vehicles.

10 Install in the reverse order
11 Depress brake pedal several times
