Removal and installation of rear window on cabriolet

Preliminary work:
Removal and installation of headlining on Cabriolet/convertible. Headliner






CAUTION: After removing headlining fasten rear window on the frame with a nut at the top center to prevent the window from swivelling down when the soft top bow is lowered and bending the frame in the soft top cover.

Retaining strips (arrows) remove from intermediate layer on window frame, fasten.
Plug connection for heated window disconnect, connect.
Soft top bow lower (do not lock), put up.
Nuts (1) unscrew, screw on.
Slider (2) remove. install.
Soft top bow put up, lower.
Nut (locating) unscrew, screw on.
Rear window remove from frame, install.

CAUTION: When removing and installing or replacing the rear window use a new gasket.

The gasket should be 1 mm lower than the top edge of the glass when glued onto the window frame. Tighten nuts uniformly to prevent waves in gasket.
