Installation For Rear Seats Headrests
Scope of work
1. Connect ground line to battery.
2. Remove front lefthand floor mat and insulation underneath.
3. Remove cover on front and rear lefthand door entrance.
4. Remove cover of lefthand front wall pillar.
5. Remove cover (a) under instrument panel,left.
6. Remove cover on radio cutout or radio.
7. Remove cover on shift lever, on ashtray and on heater actuation.
8. Remove front seat and rear seat bench with backrest.
9. Remove lining on rear pillar left and right, first aid material tray and hatrack with reinforcements.
10. Remove lower lining on center pillar left, as well as loosen belt strap end on lefthand side member.
11. Loosen carpeting in rear at door entrances and fold sideways.
12. Open covers for electric lines in legroom left front and rear.
13. Remove lining between fuel tank and trunk.

- 5 Screw M 6 x 14
- 6 Vacuum element
14. Position 2 screws loosely on rotating latch lock and fasten vacuum element with clips.

15. Engage rotaing latch locks from direction of trunk in available slots (arrow) and fasten with 4 screws.
16. Mark holes for valve on side member under rear seat at the left and drill to 3.5 mm dia.

17. Fasten valve with 2 screws BZ 4.2 x 9.5.

- X 30 SA-connector block
18. Connect 5-pole connector of supplementary harness to a free layout point of SA-connector block.
Note: On vehicles without SA-connector block, install unit according to installation instructions 54. 1.
19. Make vacuum lines according to table.

20. Remove multiple distributor for vacuum lines in unit compartment, left, and install distributor with an additional connection instead.

21. Connect vacuum line 3000 mm or 2850 mm on coupe at distributor and install into legroom, left.

22. Install vacuum line together with supplementary harness in line shaft to rear legroom.

- Y 24/2 Valve for unlocking headrest with cutout delay
23. Install short lacing of supplementary harness and vacuum line in line shaft toward valve under rear seat and connect.

- S 52 Switch for unlocking headrest
24. Install lacing of auxiliary harness via center console to switch holding grille and fasten with cable straps.

25. Fasten connector of auxiliary harness in switch holding grille with clips, plugs on switch and put switch holding grille back again.

26. Mill cutout for switch into cover or use new cover with switch cutout. Then reinstall cover.

27. Connect vacuum line 980 mm long with connecting piece to valve and install in trunk.

28. Connect vacuum line with 3-point distributor to element of lefthand rotary latch lock.

- 11 Adhesive tape
29. Install vacuum line 780 mm long from 3-point distributor to rotary latch lock, right and connect with connecting piece. Fasten line once in vehicle center with adhesive tape.

31. Mount new hatrack.
32. Place rosette over holders of headrest.
33. Insert headrests into locks and let engage. Then push rosette into cutouts.

34. Mount closing hooks and closing straps for first aid material and fasten first aid material.
35. connect battery.

36. Function checkup (with engine running).
37. Fasten carpet, put in floor mat and mount end of belt strap.
38. Install seats.
39. Install all removed covers and linings.
