Task
Controlling the upshift delay vacuum unit

Function
The AT/CC upshift delay switchover valve (Y3/5) is actuated by the IFI control module (N3/7) or the DFI control module (N3/8) when the cruise control is operated. As a result, the armature plate (a) is attracted by the electric magnet (d) and the rubber seal (f) closes off connection 1. In the deenergized state the spring (b) pushes the armature plate (a) and the rubber seal (f) against connection 2 and closes it off.
- Signal from control module:
Connections (2) and (3) linked - vacuum at the upshift delay vacuum unit
- No signal from control module:
Connections (1) and (3) linked - air admitted to upshift delay vacuum unit
